COUNTDOWN: PRIMEIRA VERSÃO DE 22 ACACIA AVENUE.

Olá Maiden family! Trago uma curiosidade que muitos já devem saber, mas sempre tem alguém que não sabe.

A canção 22 Acacia Avenue nasceu muito antes do álbum The Number Of The Beast dar seus primeiros sinais vida. Adrian Smith em sua época de Urchin compôs uma musica chamada Countdown. Ela foi uma das primeiras músicas que Adrian compôs aos 18 anos de idade. Segundo Adrian ele mexeu na canção durante anos conforme ia mudando os membros da sua banda. Urchin chegou a tocar essa canção ao vivo.

Quando Iron Maiden estava no estúdio gravando álbum do The Number Of The Beast. Steve Harris perguntou ao Adrian como se chamava a música que Urchin tocou uma vez em um de seus shows. Harris cantou um trecho da canção e era justamente a Countdown. Claro que Maiden mexeu bastante nela até chegar na 22 Acacia Avenue. O engraçado é Steve ter lembrado da canção depois de anos. Pode ser que as outras pessoas que estavam no show nem tenham gostado dela e nem estavam prestando muita atenção no show. Mas alguém estava prestando muita atenção, principalmente no guitarrista que anos mais tarde seria membro da banda do Steve Harris.
